Employee National Insurance Charge - Update your payroll software
In the Autumn statement the Chancellor reduced the main rate of Employee National Insurance from 12% to 10% on 6 January 2024.
Changes during the tax year often catch people out!
Your software will need to be updated to ensure the correct deductions are made if you are using a desktop version. Web based software should update automatically but it is worth checking the payroll calculations in January 2024 to ensure that the reduction is applied.
