Deadline for paper self-assessment tax returns 2024/25

Deadline for submission of 2024/25 tax return.

July 2025 payment on account plus balancing charge, tax for 2024/25 due.  

First payment on account due for 2025/26.

22 February 2026

PAYE Filing Deadline. 

The electronic payment deadline of the 22nd February falls on a Sunday.  There needs to be cleared funds in HMRC's account by 22nd unless you are able to arrange a Faster Payment. 

If your payment is late you may be charged a penalty. 

28 February 2026

Any unpaid tax for year ended 5th April 2024 due by 31st January 2025 attracts a 5% surcharge.
